About Surface Methodology & Interpolation

labels libMetric™

Hi, I want to ask a question. I saw your Intro-video in YouTube. and want to know In the "Delay Insertion Analysis", how does libMetric™ handle non-linear delay behaviors when a specific (load, transition) point is not present in the .lib file?

Thanks! It's very useful.

HELLO!!

libMetric™ employs a Least Squares (LS) Regression model to construct a multidimensional response surface. Instead of simple linear interpolation, the tool fits a high-order polynomial or spline to the existing timing arcs. This enables the engine to accurately predict "off-grid" delay values caused by complex Miller effects or threshold voltage variations, ensuring that the calculated number of insertion stages remains physically valid across the entire operational envelope.
